Y's for Men - Yohji Yamamoto Collection: Y's for Men, archive Item number: MK-J07-300 Composition: 100% Linen (with partial rayon lining) Ships from: BC, Canada. The archetype of a great Yohji jacket in light slate grey linen with unpadded draping Neapolitan shoulders from Yohji's first line for men. In good used condition, with all buttons intact, and one internal button that has been repaired instead of replaced to maintain garment's originality (photo 11). The colour is grey leaning toward slate grey-blue, depending on the light, it's quite neutral. There is a tiny area of discolouration that isn't noticeable without close inspection because of the fabric's texture (photo 12). The sleeve lining is meant to be shown off by rolling if you choose, like Yohji does with his own sleeves. Y's for Men was Yohji Yamamoto's first and original menswear line which ran from 1979 to 2009. He created it based on the idea of clothing for men that would complement his Y's line for women thereby "enabling a man to look his best when standing next to her." The Y's for Men line has always been inspired by Yohji's personal wardrobe. In 2023 the Y's for Men line returned after a 13 year break, and is now a current line again with new collections.
