Met Gala Series: American Woman

If you know me, then you know the Met Gala is my Super Bowl๐Ÿ˜Œโœจ So in honor of leading up to it, I wanted to create Streetwear & contemporary looks to represent the last 20 years of Met Gala themes (2006โ€“2025). I have a quick description of what each celebrated + the red carpet vibe. I hope you enjoy this series & would love to hear what Met Gala themes were your favorites!๐Ÿ–คโœจ 2010 โ€” American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity Focused on the evolving style of American women from 1890โ€“1940. Vibe: vintage glamour, early 20th-century silhouettes. Going into this one i thought i would style something similar to Diorโ€™s new look. But looking at the carpet and pieces from the exhibit i found myself going more for the gowns from the late 1890s-1900s. Thatโ€™s where this gorgeous corset top from Zimmermann comes in. I paired it with this beautiful midi sequin skirt. Itโ€™s modern but still a small nod to the pink colors we saw on some of the gowns exhibited and the sequins are for the flapper era. To make it more casual, i added this Jacquard jacket. Jacquard is so beautiful and intricate, similar to the details we see in earlier fashion designs from this era. Overall Iโ€™m pleasantly surprised with how this turned out and really love it. Itโ€™s modern, feminine, and powerful. #americanwoman #metgala #zimmermann #corset #emporioarmani #jacquard #16arlington #viviennewestwood #vivienneclutch #prada #pradasunglasses #juliettenecklace #ramybrook #piaget #dolceandgabbana #slingbacks
