Met Gala Series: In America

If you know me, then you know the Met Gala is my Super Bowl😌✨ So in honor of leading up to it, I wanted to create Streetwear & contemporary looks to represent the last 20 years of Met Gala themes (2006–2025). I have a quick description of what each celebrated + the red carpet vibe. I hope you enjoy this series & would love to hear what Met Gala themes were your favorites!🖤✨ 2021 — In America: A Lexicon of Fashion Explored modern American identity through fashion. Vibe: bold symbolism, red/white/blue references, personal storytelling. This was a little tough, but i ended up playing into red/white/blue scheme, elements that i felt represented the country and tried to choose pieces that are made by American designers. I went with this Off White denim varsity jacket in a light wash. It felt like a good mix of styling and I feel that denim is a very American symbol. I added nods to the flag with this Marc Jacobs tote bag and then kept the rest of the jewelry very minimal.
