Introduced in the 1970s, Azuma knitting machines were among the first to replace legendary Tsuri-Ami loopwheel machines. While faster than traditional loopwheelers, they still operate at an extremely slow pace, producing only one to two bolts of fabric per day; yielding a balanced fabric with a soft touch, dense knit, and lofty structure. The BEAMS cardigan is made in Japan using heavyweight Azuma-knit fleece with a brushed interior for extra warmth and comfort.
