- This Type AN-J-3A jacket is reproduced by "Buzz Rickson's", based on vintage leather jackets. The AN-J-3A and AN6552 were developed as successors to the M-422A used by the US Navy. Initially intended for joint use with the Army Air Forces, the collar is marked "US." However, it was primarily adopted by the Navy, while the Army Air Forces opted for the cotton intermediate flight jacket, the B-10. This AN-J-3A model was delivered by Willis & Geiger Co., known for stable production and technology, in 1946. Unlike the usual G-1 pocket flaps sewn together at the edges, the lower flap is sewn as is, without folding.
