The FoxFibre® Green Weft Selvedge is a 13oz Japanese selvedge denim that combines classic indigo rope-dyed warp yarns with a naturally colored FoxFibre® weft. Its distinctive green-grey character comes from naturally pigmented green FoxFibre® cotton, treated with iron using a traditional mineral-based process that deepens and stabilizes the fiber’s inherent color. Rather than relying on conventional dyes, the iron reacts with the cotton’s natural pigments, creating an earthy green-grey tone that develops further through washing and wear. The result is a fabric with a depth of color that evolves naturally over time. FoxFibre® was developed by cotton breeder and environmental pioneer Sally Fox, who began selectively breeding naturally pigmented cotton varieties in the 1980s. Because the color is grown directly into the fiber, FoxFibre® cotton can significantly reduce the need for conventional chemical dyeing and the associated environmental impact. Green FoxFibre® is among the rarest and most challenging varieties to produce. Its fibers are shorter and its yields considerably lower than those of brown FoxFibre®, making the cotton more difficult to spin consistently and limiting its availability. For this fabric, the cotton is grown in the United States before being spun into yarn in Osaka, Japan. The finished denim brings together naturally pigmented American-grown cotton and Japanese textile expertise in a fabric designed to develop greater character with every wear. Weird Guy is a classic tapered fit.
