Having existed before as a mid-cut training shoe, the basket arrived first as a low-cut silhouette in 1970. It was later closely linked to the Puma suede and it's singular, yet clean and simple design propelled this shoe into the sneaker hall of fame. With the Basket VTG, Puma is keeping the model as close as possible to its original predecessor, following here the design of the 1971 version without the basket logo on the quarter and including a raw edge tongue construction.
