Commonly known as the Denim Army Hat, this style was also referred to as the Daisy Mae Hat in the 1930s. Originally adopted in 1919 alongside the Army denim jumper and trousers, it was used as part of standard workwear. Like the matching jumper and trousers, it was also issued to young trainees in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) as part of vocational training programmes. Made in Japan from 10 oz. natural weft denim and sewn with durable cotton thread.
