VEJA teams up with Misci, a socially engaged Brazilian fashion brand known for its use of unconventional leathers. For this collaboration, the Paulistana is reimagined with pirarucu leather on the back of the sneaker. Upper: Nolyn (54% polyester and 46% recycled polyester) Panels: Suede Insole: Amazonian rubber (10%), bio-based E.V.A. (42%, including 33% sugar cane), recycled E.V.A. (12%), organic cotton (11%) and others (25%) Midsole: Bio-based E.V.A. (88%, including 50% sugar cane) and others (12%) Outsole: Amazonian rubber (27%), silica mineral (22%), synthetic rubber (25%) and others (26%) Lining: Recycled polyester (100%) Laces: Organic cotton (100%) Made in Brazil Pirarucu is a fish native to the Amazon. Its leather is renowned for its distinctive texture and natural durability. Sourced exclusively from traceable and regulated skins, it comes from the food supply chain and is overseen by IBAMA (the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources). Processed using the L.I.V.E. (Low Impact, Vast Effect) method, this leather is organically tanned with a low environmental impact. Its naturally light base allows for rich, vibrant colors after dyeing, while preserving its unique feel.
