Between Eras…
I wanted to create something that, to me, feels like a beautiful meeting of eras.
I have such a fascination with these silhouettes — the bonnets, the dresses, the defined waistlines, the long, fitted sleeves that beautifully frame the arms, and the beautiful femininity of it all. I especially love the way these details can create such a striking silhouette, particularly in black. I honestly don’t know exactly what draws me so strongly to these eras, but there is something about them that I find incredibly beautiful.
Maybe some of you feel it too. And perhaps that is why I wanted to create this moodboard — for those who, like me, feel a certain connection to the beauty of another time.
What I love most is that we don’t have to literally dress as if we belong to another era. I love the idea of taking those details — the silhouettes, the proportions, the defined waist, the long fitted sleeves, the delicate accessories — and translating them into something contemporary.
A little trace of the past, interpreted through the present.
And I’m so happy that there are still designers today who are drawn to these references and continue to explore them in their own way. Designers who preserve that sense of femininity, structure and romance, while making it feel completely relevant today.
Perhaps this is what I love about fashion most: the past never really disappears. It simply finds new ways to exist.
