Met Gala Series: Charles James

If you know me, then you know the Met Gala is my Super Bowl😌✨ So in honor of leading up to it, I wanted to create Streetwear & contemporary looks to represent the last 20 years of Met Gala themes (2006–2025). I have a quick description of what each celebrated + the red carpet vibe. I hope you enjoy this series & would love to hear what Met Gala themes were your favorites!🖤✨ 2014 — Charles James: Beyond Fashion Celebrated couture designer Charles James. Vibe: architectural gowns, exaggerated ball skirts. If you haven’t looked up Charles James designs, please do! His gowns are a masterclass in draping and manipulating fabric beautifully. It’s hard to recreate a look but felt this one was inspired by him and gave the glamour that his designs emitted. This Cult Gaia skirt reminded me of Charles James’ ‘Swan’ gown. And then the corset top gives the gorgeous silhouette that some of his designs had. These boots were a cool twist on old and modern combined. And then the Fendi baguette in jacquard velvet was the perfect mix of texture for a Sex and the City dinner vibe. She’s chic, glamorous, and on the go. She’s the moment. #charlesjames #metgala #glamour #cultgaia #fendi #fendibaguette #sunglasses #dolceandgabbana #bolero #ostrichfeathers #rosegold #rosequartz #mateo #gabrielahearst #marinab #ananya #dior #mugler #corset #wiederhoeft
