How to use The Basics: Color payoff is determined by starting hair color + porosity of strands. Color Depositing Masks are not designed to cover grays, lift or lighten. To start: Apply gloves and conduct a strand test first on dry hair to determine desired results. Apply color to one strand of dry hair, leaving on for 5 minutes. Rinse. If color is too sheer, conduct another strand test and leave it on for a longer period of time. For a sheer color effect: With gloves, apply to clean, wet hair and leave on for 1-5 minutes. Comb through for even distribution and best results. Rinse thoroughly. For an intense color effect: With gloves, apply to dry hair and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Comb through for even distribution and best results. Rinse thoroughly.
