- This is a "WAREHOUSE" standard T-shirt knitted on an old-style low-gauge knitting machine, which is said to be "rarer than a loop-wheeled knitting machine. This fabric is called "shadow border" because it is woven with a 12-count uneven yarn to produce a unique shade, and even though it is a plain T-shirt, unevenness like a horizontal border appears faintly. Instead of a modern neckline that is extremely low in the front, piping is applied to the circular rib fabric to maintain its strength, and the more it is worn, the more the neckline loosens and naturally falls down. As with vintage fabrics, the fabric becomes skewed as it ages.
