L'Artisan Parfumeur essentials

Founded in Paris in 1976 by chemist and perfumer Jean Laporte, L’Artisan Parfumeur draws inspiration from the bespoke fragrance makers of centuries past. The French house is known for its unconventional, evocative scents inspired by nature, memories, and everyday pleasures, earning a devoted following among fragrance connoisseurs worldwide. Its first boutique opened on Rue Grenelle in 1979, initially offering perfumes and distinctive home-fragrance “amber balls.” After Laporte sold the company in 1982, L’Artisan Parfumeur continued to expand internationally and was acquired by Spanish perfumery group Puig in 2015.
