I always wondered where the name "seersucker" came from until I finally googled it today. It turns out it comes from the "Persian words شیر shir and شکر shakar, literally meaning "milk and sugar", from the gritty texture ("sugar") on the otherwise smooth ("milk") cloth". I like milk, and I like sugar, so it only makes sense that I'd like this jacket, in seersucker.
