Knitted from a superfine 100% yak wool that's left undyed, so the light brown is the fibre's own natural colour. Yak is known for being exceptionally soft and warm, and it gives the sweater a gentle drape, it basically hangs off the shoulders perfectly. Made in the countryside around Lucca, Italy, by small family workshops. The panels are knitted to shape on flatbed machines (called full-fashioning, which wastes very little yarn), then taken to local artisans' homes to be linked together by hand. Knitting to shape and linking the seams helps the sweater keep its form for years. A labour of love or an investment in your wardobe? How about a bit of both.
