Lookbook
Description
- Jeans with a zipper fly were released in the mid-1950s for the eastern U.S. market as fashion wear rather than workwear. In the mid-1960s, a model made of "Preshrunk denim (Sanforized denim / shrink-resistant denim)" was introduced, but at that time, the same as for the button-fly model, un-Sanforized Kibata (grey fabric) was still used. Jeans in this period feature so-short stitches sewn with thick-count yarn on the sides, and for production efficiency (easy to sew) and thread-saving, the belt loop in the middle of the backside is offset to the left to avoid thick sewing parts. The lighter-ounce denim than the main fabric is used for the belt loop, based on vintage jeans. The silhouette is a regular straight close to - . Also, denim is newly made for these jeans, so the texture is different from the 1947 model. The zipper is "GRIPPER ZIPPER" brass pin-lock type. The zipper tape is made of cotton, so aging the same as the denim will be expected. - 14oz.
