In collaboration with Vans, she reshapes the iconic Old Skool 36 into a study of radical femininity, where grit meets glamour and function gives way to fantasy. A black-on-black canvas upper with a snake skin toe box, heel counter, eyerow and strap is disrupted by a raw, frayed white Sidestripe, while a snakeskin strap slants deliberately across the vamp for a relaxed, slouched attitude, finished with rhinestone accents and a gemstone-encrusted gold buckle. The gold-studded toe bumper amplifies the tension between strength and softness, a signature of MetaGirl’s hyper-feminine, multidimensional aesthetic.
