Arguably the finest Americana reproduction brand from Japan, the Real McCoy's painstakingly recreate and update original garments for the modern day offering the best from the past, replicated to perfection without compromise in Japan. The M-1943 Field Jacket is the successor of the M-1941 and was developed to integrate the various field uniforms the US Army had adopted until then. The silhouette was always a little loose fitting or over-sized as it was originally designed to cope with all possible situations and be worn on top of various uniform. After its introduction, the M-43 underwent several specification updates most notably the pocket shapes, which eventually influenced the M-65. Overall, six specification types were developed, ranging from 370 to 370E. However, the 370 and 370A were prototypes, with the 370B being the first version used in active service. Early models, such as the 370B and 370C, are distinguished from later ones, including the 370D and 370E, which represented the final and definitive design. This reproduction faithfully replicates the 370E specification, widely regarded as the ultimate version of the M-43 Field Jacket. The Real McCoy's have faithfully reproduced the M-1943 Field Jacket in Japan to their exacting standards. The McCoy's version has been cut from a heavy-duty cotton satin fabric, exclusive to McCoy's and modelled exactly on original examples. This is a durable and water-resistant fabric ideal for modern wear and layering while the lining uses a lightweight cotton broadcloth. As per original examples the M43 features a concealed button front (originally introduced to avoid any potential snagging), while the jacket features four large pockets with button closure.
