Sneakerheads, this one’s for you. We all have a favorite pair of shoes, whether it’s because they make you feel like you’re walking on clouds or strutting the runway. The only question is, what kicks is everyone rocking in your home state?

To find out which sneaker brands were the most popular in each state, we used Google Trends to compare search interest across 70+ sneaker styles and brands to find the most popular luxury sneakers across the country, from Nike’s Air Jordans to the Balenciaga Triple S.

The Most Popular Fashionable Sneaker in Every U.S. State

The Nike Blazer is still hot — even 50 years after its initial release. The Blazer is a high-top with a sleek athletic look, originally manufactured in 1973 as a basketball shoe. With Nike’s recognition amongst shoe brands and a variety of models to make the shoe suit your style best, it’s clear this classic sneaker isn’t going anywhere. It’s the most popular in 11 states, making it the most-searched sneaker in the country.

If you want to throw it back, try a shoe that’s been popular for more than 100 years. The Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star is the most popular sneaker in 9 states, with a similar story to the Nike Blazer. The All-Star was originally released in 1917 as a basketball shoe but has gone on to symbolize reliability with its flexible canvas material and trustworthy design. This one is another high-top, this time with two base color options: the American flag color palette (red, white, and blue) or the timeless black and white. It’s the second most popular sneaker on the map.

Rounding out the top three are the Vans Sk8-Hi and the Nike Air Force 1. They were both the most popular sneakers in 4 states each. Vans, originally a Californian skater shoe, has since grown to nationwide popularity for their ‘Off The Wall’ edge on the competition. Being built for skaters to grip their boards and slow down by dragging their feet on the pavement, the tread is super tough.

Following the trend of durability, the Nike Air Force 1 is one of the most versatile sneakers of all time. From a creamy all-white to a bold all-black, they go with pretty much everything. The leather and rubber combination in the design also makes them easy to clean.

The rest of the map features a few extra styles that caught the attention of some states. Notably, the GUCCI GGs are luxury sneakers from the designer brand that stand out for their boujee status yet comfortable construction.

Another shoe brand that popped up a few times across the states is a recent feat on the scene. Originally viewed as a ‘Dad shoe,’ New Balance has pumped out several models like the 997 and 574 that have been extremely popular amongst younger generations in the past decade, showing that your shoe doesn’t have to have a rich history to look good now.

The Most Popular Luxury Sneaker Brand in Every State

With so many models to choose from, we narrowed a second dataset to just the designer brands for luxury sneakers. Coming in as the most popular luxury sneaker brand by far is Golden Goose. Known for its iconic star symbol that’s always hiding one of the five points, this brand is the most popular in 30 states. It’s the most popular of all the designer sneaker shoe brands in the country. These shoes always look stylish and cool, making it easy to pull off a designer look without trying too hard.

In second place, as the most popular luxury shoe brand in 3 states, VERSACE is always an American favorite. With irreverent, fashion-forward designs, VERSACE luxury sneakers turn sidewalks into catwalks. Whether you like chunky or sleek, Gianni and Donatella Versace’s designs are unique and streetwear-ready.

Sprinkled throughout the rest of the map are a few designer shoe brands that we all know and love. Louis Vuitton, GUCCI, Dolce & Gabbana, and Christian Louboutin each won over 2 states. LV isn’t just a bag carrier, they carry their iconic designs on everyday shoes. GUCCI is one of the few brands to see success on both maps, here as a designer and on the previous map with the GUCCI GGs.

Carrying on, Dolce & Gabbana often incorporates baroque patterns and intricate embellishments into their sneakers, making them more like works of art than just shoes. Finally, Christian Louboutins, famed for the iconic red-soled heels, extends its distinctive style to luxury sneakers with an unmistakable touch of glamor.
