Met Gala Series: Punk: Chaos to Couture

If you know me, then you know the Met Gala is my Super Bowl😌✨ So in honor of leading up to it, I wanted to create Streetwear & contemporary looks to represent the last 20 years of Met Gala themes (2006–2025). I have a quick description of what each celebrated + the red carpet vibe. I hope you enjoy this series & would love to hear what Met Gala themes were your favorites!🖤✨ 2013 — Punk: Chaos to Couture Explored punk’s influence on high fashion. Vibe: studs, leather, tartan, rebellious glam. This is another one of my favorite Met Galas. Many attendees played into the theme so well and it was so amazing. I am in love with punk fashion. It’s so unique, expressive, and unapologetic. I was inspired by CBGB goers, Vivienne Westwood, London’s punk scene, and the musicians who really brought a vibe. Tartan was a must and I started off with these pants from Jean Paul Gaultier. I had to give an ode to the OG punk Vivienne Westwood and found this great top from her to pair with them. Diesel created this tattoo choker that looks like a fun piece to wear. Of course, needed to incorporate spikes which I did in the classic leather jacket, bag, and belt. For jewelry, I mixed metals. Imagined someone who had two earring holes so of course 2 different earrings were needed. Then a bunch of cool rings that fit the vibe. The combat boots were the cherry on top. #punkfashion #metgala #chaostocouture #leatherjacket #spikes #tartan #viviennewestwood #jpg #jeanpaulgaultier #sunnei #philippplein #christianlouboutin #marcjacobs #zadigandvoltaire #enfantsrichesdeprimes #acne #acnestudios #balenciaga #stolengirlfriendsclub #alexandermcqueen #diesel #valentino #davidwebb
