Met Gala Series: Heavenly Bodies

If you know me, then you know the Met Gala is my Super Bowl😌✨ So in honor of leading up to it, I wanted to create Streetwear & contemporary looks to represent the last 20 years of Met Gala themes (2006–2025). I have a quick description of what each celebrated + the red carpet vibe. I hope you enjoy this series & would love to hear what Met Gala themes were your favorites!🖤✨ 2018 — Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination Explored Catholic imagery and its influence on fashion. Vibe: halos, gold embroidery, sacred iconography, regal drama. This was one of the first Met Galas where I feel a large amount of attendees dressed for the theme. Like truly leaned into it and it was just beautiful. For this one, i have always loved the look of a graphic tee with an elevated skirt. So i started with this Moschino tee that was angelic and paired it with this gold chain mail skirt from Dolce and Gabbana. Layering on this perfect denim jacket that was adorned with crosses. For jewelry i did layers. More crosses, rosary beads, one of the bracelets has the Virgin Mary on it. Then this box tote from Dolce was another gorgeous piece that really fit the look and theme. I debated on the shoes because i originally was planning on sneaker wedges. But then i saw the Rockstud sandals with different color stones that felt better with the overall look. I really love how everything pulls in together. #heavenlybodies #metgala #dolceandgabbana #moschino #angels #rosarybeads #cross #mateo #embellished #rockstud #valentino #devotion #stuartweitzman
