Met Gala Series: China: Through the Looking Glass

If you know me, then you know the Met Gala is my Super Bowl😌✨ So in honor of leading up to it, I wanted to create Streetwear & contemporary looks to represent the last 20 years of Met Gala themes (2006–2025). I have a quick description of what each celebrated + the red carpet vibe. I hope you enjoy this series & would love to hear what Met Gala themes were your favorites!🖤✨ 2015 — China: Through the Looking Glass Examined Chinese aesthetics in Western fashion. Vibe: imperial gold, red silk, embroidery, dramatic trains. I knew I wanted a red and gold look. I found these gorgeous pants from Roberto Cavalli that actually have a dragon pattern on them. Then i built off that with this red silk cowl neck top and perfect jacket from Johanna Ortiz. The details reminded me a lot of the ornate details from the pieces in this exhibit. I wanted to incorporate another dragon piece which i did with this necklace. And i also wanted an embroidery piece which i did with this red silk bag. The rest of the accessories stick to red and gold. I love this look, it truly feels perfect for this theme. #chinathroughthelookingglass #metgala #chinesefashion #dragonpattern #redsilk #goldaccents #embroidery #robertocavalli #didu #johannaortiz #alejandroalonsorojas #lindafarrow #dolceandgabbana #valentino #boucheron #camilla #driesvannoten
