Description

Y's for Men - Yohji Yamamoto Collection: Archive (1980s-1990s) Item number: MD-P04-303 Tag Size: M Composition: Linen (50%), Cotton (50%), (rayon lining) Made in Japan. “Dirty, stained, withered, broken things seem beautiful to me.” — Yohji Yamamoto Well-loved, well-used, and damaged. Great tailoring, all buttons intact, and a classic YFM pant. There is one spot of discolouration by the left pocket, discolouration on the hems at the bottom of the leg from wear, discolouration higher up when rolled, one portion of open seam on the left inner leg, and an open seam on the left hem. See photos for examples. Perhaps the most Paul Harnden pair of Yohji pants, evoking the same sense of timeless distressed elegance that Harnden's pieces are known for. Or is it the other way around?... As Yohji reminds us, his clothing is meant to be worn, used, and repaired, and that's what gives it character and life, and beauty. Approximate Measurements: • Waist: 18 ⅛” (46 cm) • Inseam: 31 ⅜” (79.5 cm) • Leg Opening: 8 ⅝” (22 cm) • Front Rise: 12 ¼” (31 cm) • Thigh: 12 ⅝” (32 cm) • Knee: 11 ⅜” (29 cm) Y's for Men was Yohji Yamamoto's first and original menswear line which ran from 1979 to 2009. He created it based on the idea of clothing for men that would complement his Y's line for women thereby "enabling a man to look his best when standing next to her." The Y's for Men line has always been inspired by Yohji's personal wardrobe. In 2023 the Y's for Men line returned after 13 years and is now a current line again. Offers welcome. Please ask all questions before buying. Items are as pictured and described. Shipping from British Columbia, Canada. Final sale, no returns. For more avant-garde collecting: @ehtersono
