If you ever wondered why the Kazuki black series costs so much more than regular North face this jacket is the perfect explanation. Crazy level of detail, bulletproof materials and immaculate construction quality. Totally different level for your tech ninja life. Most of the Kazuki Black Series is ultralight summer weight materials, this one is definitely not. It is light enough and breathable with a rayon liner to be worn on a cool summer evening, but with the right layering this will take you down to bitter cold with it’s wind and water proof outer shell. This piece is much more robust than most of the Black Series shell/light jackets, and is one of the few that uses a combination of Goretex and Pertex fabrics to provide superior protection from wind/water/weather. Reinforced shoulder and elbow areas with a denser weave goretex, adjustable hood, asymmetrical sleeve ends, D rings at the pockets. Modular system to add mid layer for insulation, with attachment points at all the right areas. Dual chest napoleon pockets, front bucket pockets and side entry pockets as well, inner valuables pocket. Hyperarticulated sleeves for ease of movement and better fit, reminds me of Poell’s or Aitor Throup’s anatomical construction. Size Medium/Japanese Large, I would say this fits as a fitted North American medium. Beautifully cut garment, very unlike most mountain parkas or north face products. This has an almost tailored look to it-between the hem cutouts, asymmetric sleeve openings, articulated anatomical elbow pieces, it is easily the best fitting/looking parka I have ever encountered.
